Big Sean announces new release date for “Better Me Than You” and gives a taste of more music on SoundCloud

The wait is almost over.

Big Sean announced today that his highly anticipated sixth studio album Better me than you will be published on Friday.

An emotional Big Sean reflected on Better me than you to the finish line, while expressing his gratitude to his mother who accompanied him on this journey.

“I’m grateful to my mom for always being my guardian angel and giving me advice like that. She really helped me through it,” he explained. “Like I said, I haven’t slept much. I’ve been giving it my all on this shit. I’m totally burned out. I’m tired. I’m doing this shit for the people who are screwing me over.”

The announcement comes after Big Sean was pushed back Better me than you Only Days before the scheduled release date of August 9. The Detroit native explained that he needed “an extra week or two” to plan certain aspects, including “arranging listening events, shows, etc.”

Sean added that the music is already finished. An unfinished version of his album leaked last month and many speculated that the artist formerly known as Kanye West was behind it.

“I know he ain’t doing that shit. I love Ye,” the former GOOD Music artist said on Instagram Live. “Without him, I wouldn’t be here.”

Big Sean advised his fans to keep an eye on his Soundcloud as he plans to release music that will not appear on his next album.
