Beautiful art and some hilarious writing make it a pleasure to learn more about each character you interact with, and the over-the-top narrative about a secret organization of escape artists battling their arch-rivals, the anti-escape artists, always makes for a fun interlude between escape rooms.

Over the course of the school year, you’ll find yourself locked in the cafeteria, in a model ship that’s quickly filling with water, and in the school’s greenhouse that’s full of explosives. Each challenge is filled with complicated puzzles that will test your real-world logical puzzle-solving skills. But what ties the entire escape room experience together is the importance of communication.
In a great escape room, communication is key. Since each room has a timer that forces you to race against time, it’s paramount to divide and conquer with your friends. Escape Academy includes many item-centric puzzles, and you can pick up, store, or pass these items to each other as you run through the sprawling rooms. Many puzzles also require you to give each other information while on opposite ends of the map, so you’ll have to stay calm and accurately describe intricate artwork or cable layouts to your partner. By forcing cooperation and communication in its puzzles, Escape Academy captures the hectic nature of escape rooms brilliantly, requiring you to not only think clearly but also overcome the stress of the constantly counting down clock.
