Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green revealed why they haven’t spoken to each other for 18 years.
The duo, who played on-screen love interests in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and were together for two years during filming, sat down on Monday’s episode of the “Oldish Podcast” to talk about their feud.
“I remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other 18 years ago. I cried,” recalls Spelling, 51. “I remember crying because we were going to lose touch because we were so close.”
She further noted that the end of the hit television series in 2000 was “like a divorce” for her because she “lost the person I spend time with every day.”
Despite their shared past, Spelling recalls, Green, 51, “assured” her that they would stay in touch before quickly making it clear to her that she had reneged on her part of the bargain.
“I remember stopping by Vincent’s (Young) house several days after filming wrapped to see you and trying to keep in touch. But there came a point where I just wasn’t getting that from you anymore,” Green said.
“And then I remember being at the ‘90210’ DVD release party and you were married to Dean (McDermott) and I was married to Megan (Fox) when we were still together – you guys got there and never once said hello to me,” he added of the party, which took place in 2006. “I just kept missing you guys and then you were gone.”
At the time, Spelling had just married McDermott, from whom she filed for divorce in March 2024. Meanwhile, Green had been dating Fox since 2004 before they married in 2010 and separated in 2021.
The father of five children then told Spelling that he didn’t think she wanted to be his girlfriend anymore.
“I really felt that way,” Green said. “I felt like I had fulfilled my end of the bargain. I tried to visit her and call you. At some point, when that wasn’t reciprocated… you give up.”
Spelling echoed Green, saying, “Your experience is pretty accurate.”
The “Scary Movie” actress also revealed that another reason for their argument was the people they continued to date after the relationship.
Spelling continued dating Young, who also played one of her lovers on the cult ’90s series, and Green moved on with co-star Vanessa Marcil.
“It was a complicated relationship,” she recalled of her relationship with Young. “For my part, I lost myself in that relationship again, as I had in previous relationships. That relationship was not a good relationship for me and towards the end I was caught up in it and things were not good.”
Spelling added that she also “shied away” from Green because he was “not a fan of (their) relationship.”
“My process was different and I shied away from those who would truly fight for me. I never stopped thinking about you and never stopped reaching out and reconnecting,” she continued.
During their conversation, she also hinted that she was not a fan of his relationship with Marcil, calling it “frustrating to watch.” During their relationship, Marcil and Green had their son, Kassius, in 2002.
Green said he never lost contact with her because she was like a “sister” to him, before confirming that they are now friends and talk on the phone regularly.
After his divorce from Fox, Green moved on with Sharna Burgess and announced their engagement in September 2023.
