Nationwide — Two single mothers from Atlanta, Georgia, realized their dream when NFL legend Warrick Dunn helped them purchase a home of their own. Dunn has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to support these families.

“This means everything to us – stability, peace, generational wealth. To pass it on to them so we can make it happen. It’s just one of my dreams and I’m very happy. We’re so grateful,” Christine, one of the mothers, told 11Alive.

Christine works in customer service and has long wanted a yard for her daughters to play in. With Dunn’s help, that dream has now become a reality. Dunn’s charity provided a $5,000 check for the down payment and $10,000 worth of furniture from Aaron’s, making the move to their new homes smoother and more affordable.

Genair, the other recipient, has worked as an orthotist in Atlanta for over 40 years. She plans to share her new home with her grandchildren, all of whom are entrepreneurs.

“I’m overjoyed and overwhelmed. I’m happy, thankful and grateful to God. I was completely overwhelmed. It means everything to me. Don’t give up, keep going, just do everything in your power to make it happen,” Genair said.

Warrick Dunn, a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and former NFL star, has long been involved in the community and expressed his joy for the new homeowners.

“The little girls were just so excited when they came in and their reactions and expressions are really remarkable,” Dunn said.
