Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official trailer for the documentary film “Super/Man” about the late Christopher Reeve.
The film follows the late actor’s rise to superstardom as Superman and his fight to find a cure for his spinal cord injuries after he suffered quadriplegia as a result of a horse riding accident.
Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui, who directed “McQueen” in 2018 and “Rising Phoenix” in 2020, are directing the project, with Reeves’ family fully involved in its creation.
The documentary contains a wealth of previously unpublished private archive material, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and received rave reviews.
Warner Bros. Pictures was so impressed with the film that they acquired it and wanted to release it. In collaboration with Fathom Events, a theatrical release was scheduled for September 21st.
This will be followed by another on September 25, Reeves’ birthday.
