Green Day continues collaboration with Keurig with a partnership with 7-Eleven Coffee

It is a big year for Green Day. With Dookie 30 and American Idiot The band is turning 20 and is currently on a major stadium tour, playing both albums in their entirety every night. I can imagine that requires a lot of caffeine. And just a week after unveiling their American Idiot Keurig machine, Green Day have announced a coffee collaboration with the punkiest of all road trip restaurants, 7-Eleven.

This year is also a big one for the convenience store chain, which turns 60 this year. It’s destiny! The caffeinated festivities kick off this Wednesday, August 28, when 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide begin brewing an exclusive “Anniversary Blend” of Green Day’s coffee brand Punk Bunny Coffee. Did you know Green Day had a coffee brand? Of course, that coffee will be served in themed to-go cups adorned with the Punk Bunny mascot and the glorious 7-Eleven stripes.

“When we first came together as a band in high school, our hometown 7-Eleven was our local hangout,” said Billie Joe Armstrong in a press release. “As we celebrate the anniversaries of two of our biggest albums, it’s fitting that our coffee company, Punk Bunny, is now available at 7-Eleven stores.”

Green Day’s hometown is not New York City, but on coffee delivery day, the 7-Eleven at 800 6th Avenue is rewarding the first 50 customers with semi-permanent tattoos and free 7-Eleven coffee for 711 days. Not a bad deal, and probably more attractive than a Dookie Slurpee or something.
