COSTA MESA, California., 26 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Vans’ core mission is to celebrate skateboarding’s impact on culture and support the creatives in the skateboarding world who are “always pushing progress forward.” Part of this support of the skate community includes organizing events around the world – like an unforgettable music and skate installation at the Sacré Coeur during Paris Fashion Week and sponsoring The Bunt Jam 2024, a boisterous celebration of Toronto’s Skateboard culture – and now Vans will land at Vans Skate Space 198 in Bushwick, Brooklyn for an all-day block party. In the middle of New York Fashion Week on 7 SeptemberThe party is a celebration of the brand’s long-standing support for NYC skate culture and an opportunity to bring together individuals, brands and stores in new York which, just like Vans, are “Always Pushing”.
During the day, there will be an open skate session in the sprawling concrete park of Vans Skate Space 198 and a skate jam with prizes, including cash-for-tricks and gift certificates from skate shops KCDC, Labor and Tenant. For those new to the world of skating, KCDC and Sk8Babes will also be offering free skate lessons. Sign up for skate lessons here.
Accompanying the skating will be a community-focused “Off the Wall” market from Vans family members such as LQQK Studio, Quartersnacks, PunkandYo, Homerun, Star Team, EC Melodi, FTI, Nayfandwavey and more. Vans Skateboarding team members such as Beatrice Domond, Ben Kadow, Dick RizzoShiloh Catori, Rowan Zorilla, Zion Wright, Curren Caplesand Efron Danzig will be in attendance. In addition, DJs will be playing throughout the day, including LQQK Studios, Ben KadowAnd King Marieas well as food and beverage vendors.
The good mood doesn’t end when the sun goes down, because Vans transforms the room into a “Skate Rave” at night. After a skate session with the Vans Skateboarding Team, the lights are dimmed and the bass is turned up, with fresh ghetto tech from Detroit’s HiTech and New York’s Anniversary.
