Construction on the new Evergreen High School in White Center continues to take shape, with brick siding and window panes now visible across most of the campus.

The design – inspired by the school’s natural surroundings – includes dark bricks that reflect the bark of evergreen trees and glazed green bricks that reflect the needles and leaves of the nearby forest.

In addition to the striking exterior work, paving and final work on the new student car park will be completed this month. Other important construction milestones achieved in August include:

  • Sidewalk repairs and electrical work on 116th Street
  • Roof panel design for the southern activity building
  • Installation of cabinets, drawers and bookshelves on the first floor of the north classroom building
  • Ongoing masonry work on the exterior of the north building
  • Concreting the outdoor learning staircase in the courtyard

Construction is progressing apace despite delays caused by water vandalism earlier this year. Workers are working overtime to make up for lost time and damage assessment is ongoing.
