How temples celebrate with festive decorations

On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, devotees flocked to various temples across the country on Monday to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday with great pomp and pageantry. The sound of bells, mridangs and conchshells reverberated throughout the Radha Krishna campus.

The entire nation is engrossed in the celebrations of the birth of Lord Krishna and the temples are decorated with colourful lights and flowers for the festive occasion. Large numbers of devotees gathered for the darshan of Lord Krishna at the ISKCON temple in Ahmedabad.

Similarly, devotees gathered at the ISKCON temple east of Kailash for Shri Krishna Janmashtami. At the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Temple, the morning aarti was performed to mark the occasion.

In Dwarka, the ISKCON temple held its morning aarti to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami. In Mumbai, the morning aarti was performed at the ISKCON temple in Chowpatty. Meanwhile, the curtain rose for darshan as devotees gathered in large numbers at the ISKCON temple in Ahmedabad.

In Madhya Pradesh, Jugal Kishore Ji Temple was illuminated with colorful lights for Shri Krishna Janmashtami. In addition, a considerable number of people gathered at Mall Road in Manali for the Krishna Janmashtami celebration organized by ISKCON.

Regarding the security arrangements for Krishna Janmashtami at Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura, Mathura’s Security Supervisor Bajrang Bali Chaurasia reported that more than 2,000 security personnel have been deployed in the area. He pointed out that drones will be used to ensure security and safety. “More than 2,000 security personnel have been deployed and the entire area has been divided into three zones. An additional SP has been assigned to each zone. Adequate parking facilities have been made and Gate No. 3 has been designated as the entrance for devotees. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also arrive. Teams of ATS, commandos and fire brigade are also deployed and drones will be used for additional security,” said Mathura’s Security Supervisor Bajrang Bali Chaurasia.

Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated this year on August 26th across the country. Devotees traditionally fast and decorate temples and houses with flowers, diyas and lights. The occasion is particularly splendid in Mathura and Vrindavan, where Krishna is said to have spent his youth and childhood.
