John Constantine will appear in the upcoming John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America #11 by Simon Spurrier and Aaron Campbell. John has been dealing with Dream of the Endless for the past year, doing his best to track down the missing bag of sand that Dream wants. When John Constantine dies, he knows that his soul will be dragged to Hell. Not only has John personally offended and made an enemy of the First of the Fallen, the ruler of Hell, but he has also been banished from Heaven. Once John dies, only eternal torment awaits him. Of course, this condition has led John to do absolutely anything to avoid death, and if there is a sacrifice that must be made for the greater good, John makes sure he is never the one who pays the price. Unfortunately, death has finally taken him and this time he may not be able to escape.

The Endless’ death comes to everyone at some point. She is the last character that everyone meets. She takes this responsibility very seriously and does everything she can to provide comfort in those final moments. The Endless’ death is not scary; she is simply a beautiful part of nature, just another step on the journey of life. But Constantine is terrified of the thought of finally dying. He has done everything to avoid it, even sacrificing his friends. Now John has no friends and he has no time, and Constantine will finally face the personification of his greatest fear, thanks to The Sandman very own death.
