High Concept Labs Anniversary Celebration to Raise Funds for Artistic Exploration

High Concept Labs Anniversary Celebration to Raise Funds for Artistic Exploration

High Concept Labs (HCL), an artist residency and grant program, presents the HCL 15th Anniversary Party as part of a year-long anniversary celebration of artist-initiated and community-focused events throughout the city. The party will take place on Thursday, September 26th from 6-10pm at the Public Works Gallery (2141 W North Ave). All ticket sales support the HCL Anniversary Campaign and accessible residency programs that help artists thrive by providing time and space to ideate, iterate, take risks, and collaborate.

High Concept Labs is hosting this party and invites all, both new and long-time supporters of the organization, to this evening of exploration, collaboration, and celebration in recognition of fifteen years of commitment to cross-genre artistic projects.

Creative attire is encouraged: Partygoers are invited to use the pop-up photo studio as their first stop. Photographer Jovan Landry will be on-site until 8 p.m. to capture fun and festive portraits. Along with drinks and light snacks, and information on HCL’s history and future, Avery R. Young will take the stage. With a mission to make the creative process visible, Avery R. Young will perform an impromptu composition for a new score in development that connects language, sound, and the city’s history.

There will be a silent auction featuring artwork, cultural experiences and home goods, including artwork by Katie Chung and Brittney Leeanne Williams. Plus, Regina Martinez (aka Selective Listening) will be spinning vinyl throughout the evening, inspiring people to hit the dance floor and find joy through movement.

This event builds on HCL’s tradition of bringing artists and audiences together around the creative process. Funds raised through ticket sales, auction bidding, and the sale of memorabilia designed by Jasjyot Singh Hans will support the organization’s goal of raising $125,000 to expand the organization’s pool and expand support opportunities for a large and diverse range of artists and projects.
