“Yesterday I woke up with the terrible fear that it was cold in my living room the whole time.

“A year ago I decided to ditch the grey and go for blue, and from the moment I did it, I regretted it.”

“I haven’t sat here for a good eight months,” she told the 2.2 million other members of the official DIY On A Budget site.

Determined to give it a brand new look without spending a fortune, the frugal woman decided to visit several home goods stores to find bargains.

In addition to visiting Home Bargains and competitor B&M, Kelly also ordered a macrame wall hanging from online retailer Amazon.

The epic glow-up involved changing the walls from dark blue to a cozy cream tone and removing the jungle-themed wallpaper at the bottom.

During the remodel, Kelly also removed the family photos on the wall and replaced them with beautiful hanging plants in pots and other decorations.

The navy blue rug in the center, complete with a white coffee table on top, has been replaced with a fluffy light gray counterpart and a more modern wooden table and rattan stick diffusers.

Kelly had previously installed a leafy wallpaper, but the interior design lover opted for real plants, which instantly made the space feel more inviting and modern.

Although it took a whopping three coats of paint to remove the blue, the woman said the effort was “definitely worth it.”

Kelly wrote in the now viral post: “I went to Home Bargains and B&M for almost everything, even paint.”

“The only thing I got online was the macrame wall hanging, which was from Amazon.”

“And now it’s fresh, warm and, above all, cozy.”

“I sat here all day watching TV and I am thrilled with the end result.”
