Legendary actress Saira Banu celebrated her 80th birthday.th birthday on August 23. On the special occasion, the actress shared an emotional post dedicated to her late husband Dilip Kumar. Recently, Banu posted a series of pictures giving a glimpse into her birthday celebrations at home.

Today, August 25, some time ago, Saira Banu published a series of pictures from her 80th Birthday celebrations. In a carousel of pictures, we can see the legendary actress enjoying her special day with her close family and friends.

The post begins with the legendary actress standing in front of a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner with helium balloons bearing the number 80. The area was decorated with bright flowers while she held a bouquet of balloons. On her birthday, Banu exuded timeless charisma in an olive green suit.

The following slide was an adorable video where veteran actress Farida Jalal and others cheer up Banu by singing a birthday song for her. The Heermandi actress also expressed her love with a loving and sweet gesture. The following pictures show Banu capturing precious moments with her loved ones on her phone as they flash cute smiles at the camera.

The post was accompanied by a long and heartwarming message that began with the statement, “How do we really measure a life? Is it measured by the milestones or by the fleeting moments that quietly pass by and are remembered later? Perhaps by the anniversaries that come around every year, like an old friend who always comes around.”

“If you ask me, life can be measured in many ways. I believe it is in the company of your own people, the people you love. I consider myself blessed and gifted by the affection and support of my family and friends,” she added.

Banu thanked BJP vice president Rehan Ahmed, the eldest son of her eldest brother and daughter Shaheen, for his efforts in coming to Mumbai. She revealed that Shaheen commutes between Chennai and Mumbai most of the time.

The legendary actress also mentioned her grandnieces Anaiya and Ansharah, “who planned the whole event” and decorated the house with beautiful decorations and beaming joy. She revealed that it was her grandnieces who insisted that she go out for dinner even though she herself doesn’t go out often.

She described her family as her “Rock of Gibraltar” and thanked them for supporting her 80th Birthday is a day to be cherished. “Your mere presence was enough to fill my home with light,” she wrote.

She also thanked her friends who “bring joy to her life”, including Dr Meera Agarwal, Farida Jalal, her son Yaseen, Mani Talati and Mehfooza, her daughter Shaista, Azra Lokhandwala and Moin Beg, who conceptualised Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi. “I am blessed to have them all around me to make my day and my life an experience,” she said.

“So how do you measure life? While there are many ways, I believe the best measure is found in a room full of family and friends, a table set with plenty of food, and an invisible thread called love. Thank God for family and friends!” she wrote in a closing note, followed by a smile and red heart emojis.

The post was peppered with heartfelt birthday wishes from fans and followers, including Richa Chadha. Several fans left red heart and heart-eye emojis in the comments section.
