Randy Orton explains why he wants to face John Cena during his upcoming retirement tour in 2025

At this year’s Money in the bank PLE, John Cena has confirmed that he will end his wrestling career in 2025. The 16-time world champion will embark on a retirement tour during which he will make between 30 and 40 appearances for WWE.

Many wrestlers have since come forward and said they would like to be among Cena’s final opponents, and we can now add the Leader of the Cenation’s biggest rival, Randy Orton, to the list.

“I spoke to (Cena)” The Viper recently told Mail Online: “John and I have always been cut from the same cloth when it comes to creativity. There are some people who come in with a 10-page script about the next six months’ action and blog about it, along with a particular talent. It’s like a wish list of how they envision the future.”

“We have a whole writing team. We have Triple H at the helm, and we’re very fortunate to have them at the helm, by the way. And you know, whatever they give me, I’m going to do my best with it, and that’s how John sees it, too. So he and I are two guys that are going to make it happen organically.”

“And Triple H does it by listening to the crowd. He knows where everything has to end.” Orton continued. “He can say from week to week where it’s going. And if the fans want to see John Cena and Randy Orton face each other at some point, maybe even at Wrestlemania, then this is their last chance.”

When asked what needs to happen for this final match between Cena and Orton to become a reality, he added: “So if you want it, let’s hear it. They can go on social media, talk about how much they want it, they can chant at the shows. And I think if the fans want it, then it will definitely happen.”

“But what do I want personally? I would like to wrestle John. But working towards that fight was never my style, it was never seen as my style.” Orton noticed. “And I believe that if it’s meant to be, if it’s written in the stars, then we’re definitely going to do it, and we’re going to have a lot of fun doing it so well. I want it, so I’m going to make it happen for you, don’t worry about it.”

The two clashed countless times and made history when they unified the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship in a match won by Orton in 2014.

It is worth noting that Cena and Orton never clashed at WrestlingManiawhich makes the “Grandest Stage of Them All” the perfect place for one final one-on-one duel.
