Shaboozey sues label for publication

24 August 2024 – Shaboozey is suing his old record label for songwriting rights.

A bar song (Tipsy)

Shaboozey is suing his former record label over song rights. The star is also suing Kreshendo for allegedly releasing several songs without prior consent after terminating the contract in 2019. The singer-songwriter filed suit against Kreshendo Entertainment, claiming they are making it impossible for him to regain publishing rights to his music. The singer says he was fired in 2019 after three years with the label. A clause in his contract allows him to pay back 110% of the unpaid balance of previous advances to Warner in order to regain control of his publishing rights. However, the clause became complicated after his song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” went viral.

Shaboozey now claims that the label is not telling him the exact amount he owes from the deal. He also added that he believes the company is trying to trick him to keep him on a deal. Kreshendo has now responded to Shaboozey’s claims, claiming that he committed fraud. The label agreed to release the singer from his contract in 2019. However, there were some conditions that changed the deal. Kreshendo claims his exit deal still allowed them to collect money for all of his music compositions and they claim he knew damn well that was the agreement. The label says Shaboozey is only firing back because of the success of “A Bar Song.” Kreshendo is now suing the singer for over two million dollars. No further details have emerged about this case so far.
