SEATTLE—The Port of Seattle reported that Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) experienced “an outage of the internet and web systems” this morning and said in the afternoon that it was “a possible cyberattack.” At the time of publication of this article, the Lynnwood Times received an error message when accessing the Port of Seattle website that said “Hmmm… this page cannot be reached.”
SeaTac asks travelers to check directly with their airline for the latest travel information and to allow additional time to get to SEA and their gate.
“To make getting through the airport easier, get your mobile boarding pass for your flight and checked baggage through the airline apps before arriving at SEA,” posted on SeaTac’s X account.

According to SeaTac Airport’s Facebook account, the Port of Seattle experienced “certain system outages this morning, indicating a possible cyberattack. The port has isolated critical systems and is currently working to restore full operations. An estimated time for restoration has not yet been announced.”
The Port of Seattle has not yet released any information on the extent of the cyberattack or when systems will be fully operational again.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issued the following statement to King 5 regarding the outage: “TSA is aware of the outage of internet service at the Port of Seattle and is working with its partners at the port. TSA operations at the security checkpoint are not impacted and TSA continues to screen passengers using its rigorous procedures. Passengers should check with their airlines for information regarding their flights.”
