Pedestrian access project on North Bend Way progresses

Work has begun on a new project to improve pedestrian access along North Bend Way. The project includes construction of a new walkway connecting the Snoqualmie Valley Trail to Tanner Road.

This project is consistent with ongoing efforts to improve North Bend’s walkability and provide convenience and safety to residents.

Construction will focus on the section of North Bend Way between the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and Tanner Road intersection. This project is funded by a Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant as part of the Sidewalk Gaps, Multiple Locations 2024 project.

Much of the work will be concentrated on the shoulder of North Bend Way, but occasional single-lane closures may occur. Traffic management measures will be in place to minimize disruption.

The City expects to complete the project in early September 2024. Details on all four 2024 sidewalk gap removal projects can be found on the City of North Bend website.

Additionally, crews are currently completing the final touches on the first of these projects, the Cedar Falls Way walkway between Mt. Teneriffe Dr. and Mt. View Blvd. The walkway is now open and residents are invited to take a walk and experience it.
