MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Today is the day we start to see big changes in our temperatures. The high pressure system is moving out, allowing for more southerly flow and more warm air advection. Temperatures will climb into the 30s to 40s today. Humidity is quite comfortable today, but tomorrow humidity will be higher, so we’ll feel more like 35 degrees.

What’s next…

First alarm days have now been announced for Monday and Tuesday as temperatures climb below 35 degrees each day. Monday is expected to be our hottest day of the week at just under 35 degrees and Tuesday will be below 35 degrees. When these temperatures are combined with high humidity, it will feel more like below 38 degrees in the afternoon. National Weather will likely issue a heat warning for Monday and possibly Tuesday.

A look into the future …

After Tuesday’s heat, temperatures will slowly drop back down to below 27 degrees by Thursday, followed by the possibility of showers and thunderstorms. A disturbance will pass through on Thursday, which will not only bring some showers, but will also help to bring temperatures back down towards the end of the week.
