ESPN College GameDay team predicts Big Ten Conference winner

ESPN College GameDay team predicts Big Ten Conference winner

Week 0 has kicked off with a highly anticipated matchup between Florida State and Georgia Tech in Dublin. In a week, Week 1 will be in full swing and Michigan fans will be able to see their Wolverines take on Fresno State under the lights.

Michigan has a challenging schedule this season if it wants to defend its Big Ten title for the fourth consecutive year. The Wolverines will have to defeat three of the new Big Ten teams and try to defeat Ohio State for the fourth consecutive year. With the Big Ten taking on a new shape this season, it’s important to note that there are no longer any divisions within the conference. The top two teams in the Big Ten will face off in the Big Ten Championship Game.

At College GameDay in Dublin, the team was tasked with selecting the champion of each power conference as well as the national champion for the 2024 season.

There were two teams that would win the conference. Desmond Howard believes Oregon will bring home the Big Ten championship, while Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Sheamus (guest) and Kirk Herbstreit all believe Ohio State will win the conference. Both Howard and Herbstreit believe Oregon will win the national title this season.

Howard, Herbstreit and McAfee all believe Michigan will do better than expected this season, but they all believe there is at least one better team in the Big Ten than the Wolverines. All three college football experts have Michigan in their playoffs – but coach Nick Saban does not.

Michigan will face Oregon in the Big House and the Wolverines will head to the Shoe to face the Buckeyes in 2024.
