Olric Gift Guide and How to Get Each Item – Destructoid

Olric Gift Guide and How to Get Each Item – Destructoid

You can make friends with all villagers in Fields of Mistriaincluding a chicken and a dog, but some are more worth the effort than others. If you’re a fan of Mistria’s butter-drinking blacksmith Olric, you must know what gifts he likes to receive.

Disclaimer: You can’t make love to Olric… not yet. Fields of Mistria is still in Early Access, and NPC Studios has stated that they are open to player feedback on changes they might make in the future. While you may not be able to share Butter Coffee with Olric just yet, there’s no telling what the future might hold.

Also, you can’t just jump right in and try to woo a man. You need to build a solid foundation of friendship first and for that you need a few gifts. Also make sure Give Olric a beloved or appreciated gift on his birthday (Spring 10) to strengthen these hearts.

I will not include items that are currently not available in Fields of Mistria in this list. I will skip any points that have not yet been presented and instead focus on the points that you may now and where to get it. This list will be updated as future patches are implemented and more items become available.

True to his roots as a blacksmith, Olric loves all things geological, and he won’t settle for anything less than perfection. That means if you want to give him a gift he’ll really like, you’ll probably have to head to the mines:

Perfect Ruby Possible drop from Ruby Knots found between floors 1 and 20 in the mines

What not to give Olric in Fields of Mistria

If you want to deepen your friendship with Olric, you must avoid giving him the generally unpopular items:

  • Waste products such as fibers, hay, cattails, acorns, pine cones, turf or tree resin
  • Any errors

That being said, Olric will be particularly annoyed if you give him a Rockbiter, a fish that can be caught between floors 41 and 60 of the mines. It’s a pretty fun interaction where he’ll ask you if you hate rocks, although I don’t recommend it if you want to be best friends.
