Muskego 31, Neenah 21

MUSKEGO – The Warriors scored 28 points in the second half to defeat the Rockets in the season opener between the two teams.

Neenah took a 21-3 lead thanks to touchdown runs of 24 and 62 yards by Grant Dean. The University of Wisconsin recruit rushed for 126 yards on 16 carries.

However, Muskego (1-0) shut down the Rockets in the second half and also got going on offense. The Warriors scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to take the lead, with Jackson Niemiec leading the way with runs of 24 and 49 yards.

Jack Labisch scored two short touchdown runs to defeat the Rockets.

Niemic, a 6-foot-tall, 175-pound junior, finished with 158 yards on 13 attempts.

“Two things made the difference. They made some good adjustments at halftime and then their execution. They were just flawless (in the second half). And probably a little bit fitter than us. And that was the difference in the second half,” Neenah coach Steve Jung said.
