Fall Story Time program returns to Rye Patch | Aiken Area News

Story Time, a reading program designed to promote literacy among Aiken-area youth, begins its fall season on Tuesday, September 3, at 4:00 p.m.

Story Time is free to attend and will take place on the grounds of Rye Patch, 100 Berrie Road. In the event of inclement weather, Story Time will take place in the Rye Patch Reception Center.

Featured stories this fall will highlight themes of imagination and creativity, engaging listeners with unique tales that will fill the air with giggles. Attendees can enjoy enchanting food fables, explore the magic of nature and the great outdoors, and satisfy their curiosity with tales of discovery and courage.

Fall Story Time invites listeners to experience adventures that focus on courage and the wonders of the world.

Parents are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket; snacks and beverages are welcome. Each family in attendance will receive a free book to take home to expand their library and encourage a lifelong love of reading. This program meets every Tuesday afternoon in September and October.

A special Halloween Story Time concludes the season on Tuesday, October 29th.

Families are encouraged to bring used books from home to fill the Little Free Library at Hopelands Gardens. Located behind the Dollhouse, the library offers a free book exchange that has furthered the mission of Story Time since its launch in 2017.

Story Time would not be possible without the support of sponsors including The Aiken Homes Team at Meybohm; The Friends of Hopelands Gardens and Rye Patch LLC; Lance and Cathy Traver; The Moseley Family; Bradley L. Boni LLC; Gayle and Linda Gulick; Kitfox Pediatric Dentistry; Wesley Bodie, ERA Real Estate Agents and John Lamprecht, ERA Real Estate Agents; and Pitter Patter Children’s Boutique.
