Bandai Namco and Dimps have revealed a new character trailer for their upcoming multiplayer action game. Sword Art Online: Shattered Daydream. This new video features Sinon, a pretty important character who debuted in the Gun Gale Online arc.
Sword Art Online: Shattered Daydream is described as a multiplayer co-op fighting action game with an offline story mode and online modes that support up to 20 players. The former is unique in that the narrative revolves around worlds from the original anime for the first time in the Sword Art Online video games.
After logging into the virtual world, numerous individuals find their memories rewritten amidst the intertwining of virtual realities, leading Kirito to team up with allies and former enemies to resolve this divergence.
In battle, players can combine their combos using the two basic moves, Normal and Strong. Each character also has three special moves and an ultimate ability that makes them invincible for the respective duration.
Another mechanic is Switch Chains, which occur during boss fights. Players can take turns with their comrades and launch coordinated attacks. If all party members participate successfully, you will all be rewarded with significant damage.
Synchro Counter is a fighting technique against bosses where players who join a newly formed circle can block an incoming special attack. In addition, some characters have special moves such as hovering and aiming that help differentiate them. All characters also have cosmetic changes with costumes and weapon skins.
Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream will be released on October 4, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
