Janelle’s post comes shortly after she reflected on how she spent her first Mother’s Day since her son and Logan’s younger brother Garrison committed suicide in March.

At the time, the 55-year-old reality star shared an emotional Instagram post about the grief she felt over Garrison’s death that weekend and how she spent the holiday without him.

“Mother’s Day, grief and strawberry rhubarb cake,” she captioned the post, which showed a photo of the baked cake in a mold.

“Mother’s Day was surprisingly emotional for me,” she wrote. “It was just never a big holiday for me. My children were always there for me and made me feel special every day. Especially since they became independent adults and were no longer home all the time.”

However, the mother of six noted that because of Garrison’s absence, “this year was different.”

“All weekend long, the grief was so close to the surface,” Janelle continued. “And it was especially poignant when I made this simple cake. Our strawberry picking trip and the fact that I happened to find rhubarb at the local farmer’s market made me feel like this cake was meant to be.”

“Strawberry rhubarb is a huge favorite in our house and perhaps no one loved it more than Garrison,” she explained. “And that made this cake a little bittersweet.”

Janelle concluded the message by saying, “I love you, honey, and miss you every day.”
