Did Adam and Eve have to eat before the Fall? (The Patrick Madrid Show)

In this episode of The Patrick Madrid ShowPatrick investigates an interesting question from Javier from San Antonio: Did Adam and Eve really have to eat to stay alive before the Fall?

Patrick explains it like this: The Catholic Church has no solid, clear answer to thisso it is something we can speculate about. He mentions that Saint Thomas Aquinas spoke about it in his Summa Theologica. Saint Aquinas seems to suggest that in the Garden of Eden, eating was not about survival, but about pleasure. 🌿

Patrick further explains that before the Fall, life was all about enjoying God’s creation and following His command.. No hard work, no stress – just pure bliss, as they had everything they needed within reach. Of course, after the “fall” everything changed and life became much harder. Patrick assumes that because Adam and Eve had normal human bodies, they probably did all the normal human things – like eating and digesting food.

Patrick also recommends Pope Benedict XVI. Book, At the beginningif you want to dive deeper into the creation story. It offers some great insights into Genesis and how we fit into the bigger picture.

Even though we don’t have a clear answer, it’s quite interesting to imagine how Adam and Eve lived in complete harmony before everything went wrong. 🌟
