Lauren Akins celebrates her daughter Ada James’ 7th birthday

Lauren Akins shares her love for her daughter while celebrating her birthday.

On Thursday, August 22, the wife of country star Thomas Rhett honored her daughter Ada James with a sweet belated birthday tribute after she turned 7 on August 12. The proud mother of four shared a carousel of sweet pictures of Ada on Instagram and wrote, “HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY (just a little late) to our firework angel of a baby🩷.”

In the post, Ada is seen smiling broadly in a selfie with her mom, hanging out with horses and her dad, holding up her missing front tooth and posing with her birthday cake covered in a disco ball.

“Your heart is so beautiful, brave and full of compassion🥰 and I get so much joy from being your mommy and seeing you SHINE ✨,” Akins continued in her caption. “You are so loved Ada James 🎈🎂☀️🩵💕.”

Rhett, 34, and Akins also have daughters together: Willa Gray, 8, Lennon Love, 4, and Lillie Carolina, 2.

While speaking to PEOPLE following the release of his highly anticipated studio album About a womanRhett said his goal was to make music that would inspire his children to “move.”

“It was just like, man, on my last couple of albums, there were so many songs that my kids or my wife wanted to skip,” the “Craving You” singer told PEOPLE. “I don’t really know why, other than it didn’t make them want to dance. I really wanted to make sure that my wife and my kids felt like this album put a smile on their faces and really made them want to dance.”

In July, Akins spoke about her experience giving birth to Willa and Ada just months apart in a White Chair film released by I Am Second.

Willa was adopted by the couple in May 2017, and the mother of four said, “Three months to the day after she came home, I went to the hospital to deliver Ada.” As the family went from zero to two children in such a short period of time, Akins recalled the different reactions between her and her husband.

“I started touring with my husband,” she explained, adding, “His life went on and mine stopped. I felt like we weren’t going to do it together anymore.”

Akins admitted: “I got to the point where I didn’t like him anymore and I resented him.”

To resolve their issues, the couple engaged in a “small intensive counseling session” over two days where the two “shared everything,” she said. “And some of it was really hard to hear from each other, so we just rebooted.”
