Much hotter weekend weather on the way

TODAY THROUGH THIS WEEKEND:

This afternoon is Nashville’s first day of temperatures above 80 degrees in nearly a week. High 80 degrees, with plenty of sunshine. Winds will remain light. No rain is expected.

Tonight will be warm and pleasant, with temperatures dropping below 70 degrees for high school football games and reaching 60 degrees again by sunrise Saturday.

This weekend will be even hotter. Maximum temperatures on Saturday will be between 35 and 35 degrees. In several municipalities, temperatures will reach around 35 degrees on Sunday. As on Friday, the chance of rain is limited to 5-10%, so dry weather is expected. The wind will remain southeasterly and light.

NEXT WEEK:

Due to dangerous heat and increasing humidity, the so-called First Alert Weather Days will continue to apply from Monday to Thursday of next week.

In Nashville, daytime highs will be above 95 degrees, with some locations likely to reach highs of 100 degrees by midweek.

The lowest temperatures are just over 20 degrees.

With moderate humidity, a heat index between 100 and 105 degrees can be expected.

On Wednesday and Thursday the probability of showers or thunderstorms is 20%.

There is a 30% chance of rain until Friday with maximum temperatures around 35 °C.
