According to the game’s art director Matt Hansen, the upcoming RPG Avowed is set to hit 30 FPS. In a new interview on the Iron Lords podcast, Hansen claimed that 30 FPS was the “absolute minimum” the development team was aiming for during development.

“We made that compromise pretty early on and we’re really happy with it. The game runs pretty smoothly considering how visually dense it is, and that was always our goal,” said Hansen. “It’s a single-player first-person shooter game, you don’t necessarily need those 60 frames. And that allows us to do a lot more with visual effects, lighting and all that other stuff.”

The game’s director, Carrie Patel, recently stated that the game will have over ten different endings.

“I can tell you that our ending slides are in the double digits and you can end up with many different combinations of them,” the director said. “This is an Obsidian game, so your ending is really the sum of your choices throughout the game, across many pieces of content, based on what you encountered and what you did when you found it.”

Confessors will reportedly take about 13 hours to complete if players only play the main story, and about 26 hours if they complete the game. The team has worked hard to give players many different ways to approach the game’s combat and puzzles.

“Explore Eora, a mysterious world first seen in Pillars of Eternity Games,” says the game’s description. “You will embark on a dangerous adventure through the various biomes of the Living Lands. Face dangerous enemies with your sword and magical abilities and prepare to make important decisions with grave consequences.”

Confessors is scheduled to be released on February 18, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
