Washoe County Commissioners Vote to Relocate Seven Magic Mountains Sculpture

KTVN reported on Aug. 21 that the Washoe County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 in an Aug. 20 meeting to allocate $500,000 to move Seven Magic Mountains, the colorful land art sculpture by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, from Clark County to Washoe County by the end of 2026. The sculpture, owned by the Nevada Museum of Art, is to be moved “to make room for the expansion of Harry Reid International Airport,” KTVN reported. The sculpture has stood in its current location since it was completed in 2016 and is a popular tourist destination, but has also attracted vandalism and trash, This Is Reno reported on Aug. 20.
