Turkish Airlines expands its business class offering but keeps all our favorite benefits

Turkish Airlines is perhaps best known for its extensive network, flying to more countries than any other airline, and for its popular “Flying Chefs” who serve some of the best meals in the air. Their business class seats are particularly popular on overnight flights from the US, and they fly multiple times a day from major US hubs. Now there’s even better news for Turkish Airlines fans heading to Turkey and beyond. The airline has just announced that it is upgrading its business class offering; its new, state-of-the-art business class suite was unveiled at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow in Hampshire, UK, this summer.

Turkish Airlines has always had an excellent business class offering, but the new Crystal Business Class Suite puts privacy and comfort first. For the first time, Turkish Airlines passengers can have an adjustable suite door and privacy panel, allowing them to enjoy privacy during the flight. It’s especially nice to be able to close these privacy panels on night and long-haul flights. These new seats also feature a large seat width of 23 inches and a larger legroom with direct aisle access for all guests. (Although in the past all business class seats could lie flat, some passengers had to get a middle seat.) And to make flying a more relaxing experience, these new suites are decorated in lighter and warmer colors, marble tables and rose gold finishes. Turkish Airlines’ new business class seats are upholstered with soft leather and fabric elements, all sourced from Turkey. This transformation will take place over the next few years. The new seats will be used on the airline’s transcontinental flights and will gradually be installed in the airline’s ordered Airbus A350s. In addition, a retrofit is planned for the Boeing 777 fleet.

Travelers can still expect some of the same existing extras, including adjustable ambient and reading lights, universal and Type-C power outlets, a wireless charger, a noise-canceling audio jack, an adjustable mirror, an ergonomic seat cushion with enclosed storage, and a 22-inch IFE screen.

And of course, you can still enjoy some of the best in-flight food served by Turkish Airlines’ Flying Chefs. The meal usually starts with a multi-course starter of Turkish and Mediterranean specialties; the main courses are particularly delicious and there is a rich dessert trolley to finish. You can also choose from a very extensive drinks menu that includes several wellness options.
