accesso Technology Group PLC, a leading technology provider for attractions worldwide, is working with the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA), USA, to enhance the visitor experience at its highly anticipated exhibition, Mary Cassatt at work.

To meet the huge demand for tickets to the exhibition, the museum is using accesso’s renowned LoQueue virtual queuing system. This means that visitors do not have to wait in long lines and can explore the museum while waiting to see this important collection of works by the famous Pennsylvania-born artist.

With this project, the two organizations continue their collaboration that began in 2014. In addition, the project represents the first application of accesso’s LoQueue technology in a non-profit organization.

Steve Brown, CEO of accesso, commented: “This project with the Philadelphia Museum of Art is our first non-profit collaboration with Access to LoQueue. We are excited to provide virtual queuing technology to enhance the visitor experience and enable memorable museum visits.”

Improved visitor experience

Maria Cassatta French Impressionist, defied the expectations of Philadelphia’s elite. This exhibition features a diverse collection of over 130 works that illustrate the artist’s changing practice and his engagement with the realities of gender and labor.

The museum expected high demand for the exhibition and was looking for a way to maintain the experience while managing visitor flow and increasing participation. Using accesso’s LoQueue solution, visitors can use their smartphone to join a digital queue upon arrival, allowing them to tour the surrounding galleries, have a coffee or relax before entering the exhibition.

Paul Dien, Chief Marketing Officer at Philadelphia Museum of Artsays: “Giving people the ability to leave their phone waiting in line has been a game changer for us. The LoQueue sign-in process is simple for visitors, and we’ve also created an easy way for guests without smart devices to join the virtual queue, making it accessible to everyone.”

The system has improved the museum’s admission process for special exhibitions by eliminating the hassles normally associated with physical queues.

Sarah Taylor, The deputy head of visitor services adds: “I appreciate the practical work of the team. They gave us detailed information before the launch and arranged numerous meetings to ensure that we were familiar with the system. accesso showed us how customizable the entire system is.”

accesso’s virtual queuing technology has become an integral part of the visitor experience at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This project illustrates the significant progress in handling high-demand museum exhibitions while keeping visitor comfort and convenience at the forefront.

Mary Cassatt at work will be on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art until September 8, 2024.

Recently, accesso announced that it has partnered with Powerscourt Estate and Gardens in County Wicklow, Ireland, to develop the Powerscourt Gardens audio tour appThis is designed to increase visitor engagement and support sustainability efforts at the estate, which is one of Ireland’s biggest attractions and the first to be certified by Sustainable Travel Ireland.
