A closer look: In-person early voting in Lee County by party and location
Journalist Mickenzie Hannon analyzed in-person voting in Lee County, breaking it down by party and location.
In-person early voting data in Lee County shows a partisan divide across locations. Most of the county leans heavily toward the Republican Party, with most polling places reporting GOP support above 70%. This trend is particularly evident in areas like the Lee County Elections Office in Bonita Springs and the Estero Recreation Center, where GOP voters make up at least 77% of the early vote.
However, an exception to this trend can be seen in downtown Fort Myers, particularly at the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers site, where support for Democrats is significantly higher at 66.43%.
This pattern reflects the broader political landscape in the GOP-dominated district.
