At an opening press conference in Washington, DC, heavyweights Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira faced each other for the first time ahead of their fight. The pair will fight for the PFL Super Fights title on October 19.
The fight will pit Cameroonian-French former UFC champion Ngannou (17-3) against Brazilian PFL champion Ferreira (13-3, 3 NC). The highly anticipated bout is the highlight of the fight card titled “Clash of the Giants: Prepare for Impact.” The venue has now also been announced – Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Hosting the press conference at the Anthem in Washington, DC was Jake Paul, who is expected to make his MMA debut at a future PFL event.
In an all-Brazilian co-feature, former UFC middleweight champion and current Bellator titleholder Cris “Cyborg” (27-2) will face PFL two-weight champion Larissa Pacheco (23-4) in a fight to crown a new PFL Super Fights women’s featherweight champion.
Additional fights on the Battle of the Giants card are expected to be confirmed shortly.
