Southwest wishes TikToker Jools Lebron a “very low-key, very mindful” day

Southwest Airlines is the first major airline to be branded “very low key and very attentive.”

TikTok creator Jools Lebron, who went viral this summer by calling things she does or says “modest.” One of her latest videos, posted on August 21, mentions her Southwest flight to Chicago-Midway. According to Southwest, a flight attendant quickly spotted Lebron on the plane.

“Southwest is not like those other airlines,” Lebron said in her video, which had been viewed over 547,000 times as of Thursday morning. “She leaves on time. She doesn’t overbook. The plane is nice and air-conditioned. She’s not crazy like those other girls.”

Lebron isn’t far behind Southwest’s performance. Southwest’s statistics for this year through May show that 76.79% of its flights arrived on time this year, according to the Department of Transportation. Competitors show similar performance for the year: American Airlines at 75.06%, United Airlines at 78.34% and Delta Air Lines at 83.02%.

Of course, that doesn’t take into account the busy summer travel season that began in June and a global technology outage in July that brought flights around the world to a halt. Delta, despite a strong performance through most of 2024, was the hardest hit of the major airlines, suffering a collapse for nearly a week. Southwest had a cancellation rate of nearly zero on the day of the outage.

As the plane landed in Chicago, LeBron received a special greeting from Southwest flight attendants, who wished everyone a “very modest, very mindful and very sweet day.”

“It happened naturally after one of our flight attendants spotted Jools on the flight from LAX to MDW and decided to have a little fun,” said Southwest spokeswoman Ashley Bain. “This is just another example of Southwest’s legendary culture and how our employees are very cute at work.”

Lebron has been quoted by celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Penn Badgley. She even appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show with RuPaul. She did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
