Free haircuts for back to school on August 27th
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 27th from noon to 7 p.m. at Town Square Park in Federal Way.
“A little on the sides, please.” “Just a little trim, I’m letting my hair grow.” “Can you do that style I saw on TikTok?”
When school starts again, it’s time to get your school photos taken and look good. That includes getting a new haircut. But going to the hairdresser or barbershop can be expensive – luckily Federal Way has an affordable solution for parents and students.
On Tuesday, August 27, from noon to 7 p.m., the Back 2 School Free Haircuts event will take place again at Town Square Park in Federal Way, where students ages 5 to 18 can get a free haircut.
“This is a great event and an incredible gift from our selfless and talented professional barbers to our youth and families in the community,” said Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell. “As the father of a very shaggy 17-year-old high school junior, I know the parents are relieved to see their children get a haircut in time for the new school year!”
Just in time for the first day of school on September 3rd, this event will take place from noon to 7 p.m. with approximately 50 hairdressers and barbers from salons and barbershops across the area with the goal of giving Federal Way students 500 haircuts. Participating salons include Bella Red, Castaway Salon, Lifestyle Academy, Detailed Experience Barber Shop, King’s Den Beauty Academy, Third Dimension Salon in Auburn, Silver City Barber Shop, Central Salon and more.
No registration is required for the Back 2 School Free Haircuts event. There will be a DJ and other entertainment, and coffee and ice cream will be available for purchase. The event will be held at 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way South in Federal Way.
