The best room at … Wynn Las Vegas

The best room at … Wynn Las Vegas

I used to have a rule: never stay in Vegas for more than 48 hours. Because it always starts off so promising and great, but by the third day you turn into a dehydrated, sleepless rat in a maze, wandering through blocks-long hallways from casino to casino, barely knowing what time it is.

However, I recently traveled to Las Vegas to see Dead & Co at the Sphere (a venue everyone should make a pilgrimage to) and stayed at the Wynn for the first time. I had stayed at this hotel many times before, but I had always stayed elsewhere. My mistake.

The beauty of the Wynn is that it has everything you could want in a Las Vegas hotel: great shopping, a bustling casino, great restaurants (make your Delilah reservations early), an expansive spa and pool. Somehow, though, the hotel manages to be both the Platonic ideal of Las Vegas and an escape from the city. And nowhere is this more true than in the six villas that Todd-Avery Lenahan, president and chief creative officer of Wynn Design and Development, calls his favorites.

What do you think is the best room at the Wynn and why?

The most opulent (and my personal favorite) rooms at Wynn Las Vegas are our six villas. A blend of classicism, cubism and fauvism, each of the villas offers multiple master suites, media rooms, fitness facilities and verdant gardens with pools. The villas are comfortable while also serving as a treasure trove of artwork and artifacts. Completely redesigned in 2023, each of the villas ranges between 1,200 and 1,500 square feet and is furnished with furnishings that represent a rich palette of couture items as well as rare and exceptional antique acquisitions researched, collected and curated worldwide over three years. Unique, custom-made textiles and artwork adorn the walls and rooms of each villa. Of the six villas, two are two-story with four bedrooms and ten bathrooms, while the other four are single-story with two bedrooms and six bathrooms.

How much do they cost per night?

Access to the villas is by invitation only.

How would you describe the atmosphere at Wynn Las Vegas?

Wynn’s signature style is elegance, artistry and comfort. Newly renovated in 2022, guest rooms at Wynn Las Vegas are designed to give travelers a sense of escapism while providing a feeling of comfort and familiarity.

Can you tell us something about the creation and development (or any redesigns) of this property that might surprise visitors?

When designing hotel accommodations, my approach is very personal and not commercial. The villas are a great example of the care and dedication our team puts into each project, as the total design and construction time for these six residences was two and a half years. Originally designed 21 years ago, they have been much admired and sought after by our high-profile clients for nearly two decades.

Imagine you’re a Vegas newbie coming to town for 48 hours. Tell us your ideal itinerary.

Book your entire stay at the Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas.

            Day 1

Arrive at 3:00 p.m. through the Tower Suites’ cozy and elegant arrival sunroom and check into your suite with views of Sunrise Mountain, The Sphere and Wynn Golf Club.

4:00 p.m. – With appointments at the opulent spa at Encore, you can leave the outside world behind and begin two days of well-deserved pampering.

7pm – Drinks at the Little Bubble Bar at Delilah (tell them Todd sent you!). See if you can find my face on the mural on the ceiling… Hint: I love Lucy.

7:30pm – Dinner at Delilah under the polished bronze palm trees in the middle of the room, overlooking the stage. The Film Noir cocktail and Beef Wellington are a must for me.

After leaving Delilah, head to the neighboring Wing Lei and ask the team to show you the stunning 400-year-old pomegranate tree in the restaurant’s garden. Make a wish there – it’s a tradition.

9:30pm – Relax with drinks outside on the Aft Cocktail Deck overlooking the shows on our Lake of Dreams. If you see a server carrying a “ship in a bottle” to a nearby table, ask what it is and then order it!

            Day 2

7:30 a.m. – Start the day with an elegant and highly sophisticated breakfast on crisp white tablecloths with fresh flowers at the Tableau overlooking the parterre gardens and pools of Wynn Las Vegas.

8:45 am – Arrange a private pickup in the Tower Suites lobby from Pink Jeep Tours who will take you on an invigorating morning hike into the spectacular surroundings of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just over 20 minutes from the resort.

12:00pm – Swim laps and nap by the pool and gardens of Wynn’s private Tower Suites, with your own reserved cabana and VIP cabana service.

2:00pm – Lunch at Cipriani in Wynn Plaza followed by a shopping spree at my favorite stores including Kiton (tell them Todd sent you), Hermès, Brunello Cucinelli, Watches of Switzerland and Wynn at Home.

5:00 p.m. – Steam room and sauna at the Spa at Wynn – or a spa visit at the Barber Shop for him or hair removal in one of our salons for her.

7:15pm – Dinner at Mizumi. Ask for a seat near the koi pond and waterfall if available.

8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Experience a great show at the Encore Theater or awakening whether there is a late show during your stay.

11:30pm – Spend the rest of the night with “Lady Luck” and roll the dice under the chandeliers and glowing shadows of the ultra-glamorous Wynn Casino – where you can try to win back everything you’ve spent over the past 36 hours.

            Day 3

Morning – If you’re lucky and the timing works, sign up for one of our Connoisseur Classes before checking out. A unique collection of experiential events, the Connoisseur Series takes guests behind the scenes in an intimate setting, offering unrivalled access and experiences from world-class experts, chefs and winemakers from around the world.
