The Bookseller – News – Penguin Random House appoints Amanda D’Acierno as global president of audio

Amanda D’Acierno has been appointed Global President of Penguin Random House (PRH) Audio, effective immediately, and will continue to report to Managing Director Nihar Malaviya.

Malaviya shared the news with the company in an email that was seen The booksellerand stated that D’Acierno will join PRH’s Global Executive Committee and work with the leaders of the company’s audio group to expand PRH’s audio publishing across genres.

In her new role, the Global President will also increase the company’s investment in proprietary recording studios and strengthen collaboration between the publisher’s audio groups worldwide. She will also continue to manage PRH’s relationships with retailers such as Audible, Apple, Spotify, OverDrive, Google and others.

D’Acierno has 27 years of experience in the publishing industry. She began her career as a bookseller in Houston, Texas, and then managed events at Barnes & Noble’s main store in Union Square in New York City.

The publishing executive also worked in public relations for an independent art publisher before joining Random House Audio in 2003, rising within five years to become president and publisher of PRH Audio Publishing Group in the U.S. Since then, she has led the publisher’s American audio business through a period of growth that has seen audiobook offerings expand from 500 titles when she became president and publisher to 2,000 titles annually in 2024.
