An Arizona woman was killed when she was thrown from her car after it rolled 1,000 feet off a cliff, just days after she celebrated her birthday.

Kristin “Kris” Little, 39, died last Friday when her vehicle was thrown through the air and plunged down the steep slope on Thumb Butte Road near Prescott.

She was thrown from the vehicle about halfway up the mountain slope.

Her mother, Jinger Cutting, is now planning the funeral of her beloved daughter. The grieving mother told AZFamily that Kris had been watching the sunset in the area before the tragedy struck.

“The thought of me burying my child first is killing me,” Jinger Cutting told the outlet. “That shouldn’t be the case.”

She added, “I wish God had taken me first. God needed Krissy. She is a true angel.”

“She was an angel on this earth for 39 years and now she will be an angel in heaven.”

Little was a real estate agent in Prescott and, according to her mother, enjoyed spending time outdoors – camping and hiking with her dog.

Cutting said her daughter watched the sunset almost every day from the same vantage point on Thumb Butte.

That’s exactly what she did last Friday when she happened to meet high school friends.

When everyone had left, Cutting said her daughter went down the Thumb Butte side, which is a difficult road, but her daughter has made this journey before.

Cutting had recently been on a trip with Kristin and her other daughter Jessica to celebrate her birthday.

Due to the terrain and darkness, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office officers had to wait all night to recover her body and were not allowed to leave her side.

Cutting also said that her daughter’s dog, CJ, was with her and survived the accident.

“These rescuers stayed with my daughter all night and that meant everything to me.”

She added: “She enjoyed life to the fullest and did everything with all her heart.

“She was a wonderful girl. She was everything. She was the light of my life. She was always full of positive energy.”

She described the great support and sympathy of the local population as “overwhelmingly beautiful”.

She said, “Please hug your children every day. Hug those babies because you don’t know when you’ll see them again.”
