Stevie Wonder and John Legend bring star power to day three of the DNC – see all the performances

The third night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was filled with electrifying performances from music icons like Stevie Wonder and John Legend. See all the artists who took the stage on Wednesday and their performances below.

Wednesday night’s festivities kicked off with singer-songwriter Maren Morris singing the country song “Better Than We Found It.” According to Billboard, Morris made the difficult decision to leave country music last year as the sociopolitical divide in the right-leaning genre has deepened.

Legendary singer Stevie Wonder also took the stage to speak and perform at the DNC. “We must keep going until we are truly one united people of this United States, and then we will reach higher,” the music veteran said in his speech. He then sang his song “Higher Ground.”

Later in the evening, John Legend sang a tribute to Prince, one of the state’s most popular singers, before Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s keynote address. Singer and drummer Sheila E joined Legend in a performance of “Let’s Go Crazy!”, dedicated to Gopher State.

Celebrity speakers on the third day included host Mindy Kaling, comedian Kenan Thompson and fan-favorite television host and producer Oprah Winfrey, who was added to the list at the last minute. The evening also featured a performance by poet and activist Amanda Gorman.

The DNC has seen plenty of high-profile moments so far. The first day featured singers Jason Isbell and Mickey Guyton (James Taylor was dropped from the lineup due to time constraints). On the second day, music transformed a normal roll call into a lively celebration, complete with a DJ and a surprise appearance by Lil Jon. According to CNN, Pink will close the DNC tomorrow night.
