A New York Story comes from the filmmaking team The Robert Sisters. The cast includes Logan Miller (Escape Room), Annabella Sciorra (Tulsa King) and Oscar-nominated director Whit Stillman (Metropolitan). A New York Story, previously A View of the World from Fifth Avenue, had its world premiere at Geena Davis’ Bentonville Film Festival. The film will be released by Vertical Films on September 6.
Directed by Fiona Robert, who also stars as Annabel, A New York Story is about a young woman who is in danger of being ostracized from a closed New York clique around her best friend Virginia (Sophia Robert) when she falls in love with the charming photographer Theo. Annabel must contend with the sudden loss of her father and is torn between the comfortable prosperity of her upper-class circle and the vibrant ambitions of the inner-city artists. As Theo shows her unexplored sides of the city and herself, the question arises as to how far Annabel will break out of her gilded cage.
The cast also includes Richard Ellis (I Am Not Okay With This), Paul Karmiryan (Veronica Mars), Noelle Miller (Spare Me), Francesca Root-Dodson (Succession), Dan Thompson (Three Women), Elaine Hendrix (Dynasty) and Carolyn Farina (The Ages of Innocence).
