The Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday will feature well-known artists, including country singer Maren Morris, legendary icon Stevie Wonder and famous artist John Legend, who will deliver an iconic tribute to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in his acceptance speech.

According to convention organizers, Legend will “honor two Minnesota icons” with his performance on the third day of the convention at the United Center, and will be one of the event’s biggest performances yet.

Legend will play music by Prince, who was at home in Minnesota, along with Walz, who will take the stage Wednesday night to accept the nomination as the Democratic Party’s vice presidential candidate.

Emily Soong, a spokeswoman for the convention, also confirmed that Stevie Wonder will not only perform but also give a speech on the third night of the event.

Morris was also seen warming up on stage at the United Center, with officials confirming he will perform on Wednesday.

The artists include some of the biggest names to have performed on stage during the congress so far.

Lil Jon surprised the crowd with a performance during roll calls on Tuesday, while DJ Cassidy played music on stage, Common and Patti LaBelle both performed, and Mickey Guyton and Jason Isbell starred on the first night of the convention. James Taylor was scheduled to perform on Monday, but his performance was canceled due to scheduling delays before President Joe Biden’s speech.

Pop star Pink is scheduled to perform before Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech on Thursday, a person familiar with the plans told the Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity about the program.

Legend is rumored to be on the bill during the convention after headlining a party hosted by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and First Lady MK Pritzker at the Salt Shed concert hall on Tuesday night. He was spotted by several reporters at the United Center before rehearsals began for the evening on Tuesday.

The singer is an outspoken supporter of President Joe Biden’s administration and performed at his inauguration in 2021. In recent days, he has also spoken out in favor of Harris.

“She’s happy to see someone who is black and Asian like her,” he said of his daughter, who looks up to the vice president.

Legend will also release a new children’s album later this month, titled “My Favorite Dream,” produced by Sufjan Stevens.

More artists may appear throughout the evening, but no official announcements have been made yet.
