4 new things you can eat this week

On our sister site SiouxFalls.Business, we’re literally constantly reporting on restaurant openings. That also means we can take a closer look at the menu so you know what to expect. Here are our four picks for this week.

Fans of barbecue and pizza will enjoy this mashup. Fat Daddys Smokehouse inside The Gaslight Lounge added the Pizza with smoked meat to the menu. It uses barbecue sauce instead of pizza sauce and is loaded with bacon, smoked chicken, pulled pork, brisket, crispy onions, smoked jalapeno sauce and mozzarella. After it comes out of the oven, it is drizzled with golden barbecue sauce.

Krav’n has several new menu items. Our choice is the Caribbean Pork Pernil. Adobo-marinated and slow-roasted pork shoulder sits on a bed of red beans and Caribbean rice, garnished with fried green plantains and mango salsa.

Slim chickens new Large Chicken Dill Sandwich features a roasted chicken breast with fresh cucumbers, fried pickles and dill aioli on a toasted brioche bun. It is available for a limited time.

All your favorite Cannoli Ingredients have found their way into Cake on a stick at Intoxicabakes. The pops are the bakery’s cannoli cake, a vanilla cake with chocolate chips, orange zest, and cinnamon that’s then mixed with cannoli buttercream, a sweet ricotta buttercream that also has cinnamon, orange zest, and mini chocolate chips mixed in. The pops are dipped in white chocolate and topped with mini chocolate chips and wafer cone pieces. FYI: The bakery has also been making cannoli cake slices, but they’re almost sold out. You can always order a whole cannoli cake – or cake pops – with at least three days’ lead time.
