Kenny Loggins will be honored later this year with the John Lennon Real Love Award at the 44th Ayearly Tribute to John Lennon December 7th at Symphony Space in New York.
The annual event is organized by Theatre inside, The institute offers free workshops on creative expression and mindfulness for children, adolescents and adults affected by cancer, as well as for young people in crisis situations.
“Kenny Loggins is one of those rare artists who fearlessly pushes the boundaries of musical genres and whose songs have touched the hearts of generations of fans,” said Theatre Within’s artistic director. Joe Raiola says. “In addition, Kenny’s charitable commitment, especially to children, was enormous and selfless.”
Previous winners of the John Lennon Real Love Award include Graham Nash, Natalie Merchant, Patti Smith, Ani DiFranco And Donovan.
The award was launched in 2014 with the support of Lennon’s widow. Yoko Onoto celebrate artists for their creative excellence and charitable/social impact.
Proceeds from the 44th Ayearly Tribute to John Lennon Theatre Within’s programmes and the John Lennon Real Love Projectt songwriting program.
