Croatia Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance group, will receive a major fleet renewal project and the first delivery of an Airbus A220-300. On the occasion of the airline’s 35th anniversary, the company has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 at the Mirabel Airbus factory in Canada. In addition, the renewal project will be the largest project in the company’s history.

What is the renewal project about?

The renewal project is the first of its kind for the company. The airline is re-presenting itself with a new visual aesthetic and has ordered several Airbus A220-300s. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2027 and Croatia Airliner will receive a total of 15 aircraft. The company wants to replace the current and older generation aircraft with new generation Airbus aircraft. This is an important step in the right direction as it will increase passenger comfort.

On the other hand, this initiative also reduces the carbon footprint. Thanks to new technology from Airbus, the airline will also save more fuel with the newer generation aircraft.

With the renewal, the airline begins a new development program for the company with the aim of increasing business efficiency and further developing the already existing great visual identity in the country. Croatia Airlines CEO Jasmin Bajić commented on the project:

The rebranding of the Croatian airline will increase the company’s visibility and awareness. It also underlines the importance of Croatia’s national identity and the role Croatia Airlines plays in the country, while Croatia Airlines continues to be one of the best brands in world aviation, according to renowned experts.

The airline seems to be moving in a good direction. 2024 looks to be a great year for Airbus. In July, Airbus delivered 77 aircraft, bringing the total for 2024 to 400. Another 59 aircraft are expected to be added next year.
