The aim of this project is to produce competitive green ammonia in India, a country rich in renewable energy resources.

In June, Kyushu Electric, Sojitz and Sembcorp signed a preliminary agreement to supply the green ammonia produced in this project to various industrial customers in Japan, particularly in the Kyushu region.

The deal is based on the concept that this project will produce and transport approximately 200,000 tons of green ammonia annually to the Kyushu region to meet end-user demand, leveraging NYK’s experience and knowledge in the field of ammonia sea transportation.

In July, JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) conducted the world’s first truck-to-ship bunkering of ammonia as fuel for an ammonia-powered tug (A-Tug) of NYK Line.
