USA: Alaska Airlines has joined forces with Expedia Group to Alaska Vacations Staysa platform where guests can discover exclusive offers for over 900,000 vacation rentals and hotels while collecting and redeeming miles through the loyalty program.

From now on, guests of the airline can use the Alaska Vacations Stays Platform. Alaska Mileage Plan members can earn one mile per dollar on all bookings made through the program, while Alaska Airlines Visa Signature cardholders earn an additional three miles per dollar spent on eligible prepaid stays and also benefit from preferred redemption rates when redeeming their miles for bookings.

Courtney Lansing, general manager of business development and products at Alaska Airlines, said: “Alaska Vacations Stays combines convenience and affordability by giving our guests access to Expedia Group’s extensive offering and special savings, while earning award-winning airline status. Through this partnership with Expedia Group, we give our guests choice for every part of their trip – from flights to accommodations.

“It is a testament to our shared commitment to improving the travel experience,” Lansing added.

Stephen Cheng, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Expedia Group, said: “We are excited to expand our partnership with Alaska Airlines, underscoring our commitment to seamless, end-to-end travel experiences supported by proven, reliable technology. Based on our white label template solution, Alaska Vacations Stays “opens up our extensive lodging offerings and provides incredible value to Alaska Mileage Plan members by allowing them to earn and redeem miles on a variety of travel elements.”

Earlier this year, Alaska Airlines launched its travel portal for vacation packages Alaska Vacations Packagesthrough which guests can benefit from package discounts on airline tickets, hotel rates, car rentals and activities. The platform is designed to allow guests to easily customize and bundle their vacation packages, saving money and earning miles throughout the booking process.

Alaska Airlines and its regional partners currently serve more than 120 destinations in the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico.

Meanwhile, US airline JetBlue last week announced a partnership with Expedia Group’s vacation rental brand Vrbo through its travel booking website Paisly.

Launched in 2021, Paisly by JetBlue allows travelers who are JetBlue customers or members of TrueBlue (JetBlue’s loyalty program) to book non-flight travel elements such as vacation rentals, hotels, rental cars, activities and travel bags a la carte, while earning TrueBlue points (which count toward future free JetBlue flights) and tiles (which count toward Mosaic Perks You Pick and Elite status).

Thanks to the partnership, travelers and members can now book these travel elements through the Paisly site through Vrbo.
