With college football season just around the corner, airlines are offering special flights to provide convenient travel options for sports fans. United Airlines has also announced several flights for fans who want to watch their favorite teams play major games.
With huge demand for flights to popular games expected during the college football season, United Airlines has added many nonstop flights for fans. United and other major U.S. airlines adjust their schedules each year to fly passengers to the cities hosting the games.

Some of the games for which the airline has added flights include the University of Texas-Austin at the University of Michigan on Sept. 7 and the University of Alabama at Louisiana State University on Nov. 9. United will also fly wide-body aircraft to some of the most popular games this season. CBS News quoted Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances, as saying:
“Connecting travellers to the moments that matter most to them is at the core of what we do at United. We know fans will appreciate this year’s special football programme, which makes it easier to cheer on their teams on the go.”
Flight schedule
United has arranged flights to travel to the games on Friday and return on Sunday. The only exception is the BTR-LAS flight, which departs on Saturday, August 31 and returns on Monday, September 2. The schedule is as follows:

Of course, United isn’t the only major U.S. airline offering more flights for the college football season. In May, Delta announced it was offering over 50 additional flights and 5,600 seats for the games, with a focus on big matchups like Alabama, Ohio State and LSU.
