A new survey* from Duck® The brand finds that college students and teachers want to transform their small spaces into comfortable environments with style. From creating DIY bulletin boards to covering cubbies and desks with fun prints and patterns, the research uncovers the coolest decor trends for the new school year.
How do they plan to revamp their rooms? Small details make the biggest impact! Over 50% of teachers say hanging a bulletin board, creating a welcome sign, and brightening up the outside of a desk with peel-and-stick wallpaper are the most cost-effective ways to quickly give the classroom a makeover. On the other hand, more than half of students plan to decorate their dorm with canvas prints, photo walls, string lights, and smart speakers.

College students also want their dorms to reflect their individuality: 43% prefer a ‘cozy’ style, while 28% prefer a ‘colorful’ look.”
Because these school spaces are only used temporarily, it can be a challenge to give them a warm and inviting atmosphere – while keeping the decorations removable. However, survey respondents plan to use a variety of simple decorating solutions to achieve their dream decoration.
