Elijah Vue has been missing for six months, exactly on his fourth birthday

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WBAY) – The search for Elijah Vue, now four years old, continues in Two Rivers. His grandmother confirmed Tuesday is his birthday. Vue was reported missing in Two Rivers six months ago on Tuesday.

“I hope every day that there will be an update or some good news or something, but often we get nothing,” said Amy Conant, a member of the Two Rivers community.

Clear questions remain – but Captain Andrew Raatz says the department remains determined.

“Our thoughts are always with Elijah. That is our top priority,” said Captain Raatz.

Captain Raatz says it’s obvious that day-to-day operations have changed as the small department slowly returns to normal routines. However, he doesn’t want people to get the wrong idea. He says a lot goes on behind the scenes.

Elijah Vue’s disappearance and 4th birthday

“We’re using other technologies in areas that we’ve looked in before, like looking for early anomalies in the soil and things like that. So we’re using other technologies that are out there, but we’re still looking. We’re still investigating,” said Captain Raatz.

The FBI confirmed to Action 2 News that it continues to assist local and state authorities in this case.

“Your video analysis equipment is of tremendous importance in these investigations,” noted Captain Braatz.

Vue’s caregiver Jesse Vang and his mother Katrina Baur are charged in connection with the case, but not with his disappearance. Both remain in custody on charges of chronic child neglect.

According to police, emails and tips are still coming in from all over the world as part of the investigation. Captain Raatz also asks people to keep their eyes open as the seasons change.

“Soon the hunting season will begin, the fields will be harvested and the like. There will be various changes in the environment. With these changes perhaps something will come out,” said Captain Raatz.

When Action 2 News asked Captain Raatz if he believed Vue was still alive, he replied, “Statistically, after six months, the chances are not very high, and we realize that. But right now, we’re really focused on the investigation and finding out what happened to him.”

The reward for anyone with information leading to Elijah Vue’s whereabouts remains at $40,000.
