Contest to rename animal rooms at South Texas Imaginarium nears end

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Now that the Imaginarium has moved into its new location on Laredo College’s downtown campus, it is holding a contest to rename its Critter Room, with prizes being awarded to the top three names.

The Critter Room is home to many live animals, including snakes, spiders, reptiles and other small animals.

Imaginarium of South Texas Executive Director Nora Murillo explained in more detail the prizes awarded to the top three names.

“The winner who names the Critter Room will receive a free membership, second prize will be ten free tickets to the Imaginarium, and third prize will be a science kit to take home. We want the community to participate in this great event to name this room,” said Murillo.

All competition entries must be submitted to the Imaginarium reception by Wednesday, August 14, 6:00 p.m.

You must provide your name and contact information. The competition is open to all ages.

The winner will be announced that evening at 6:45 p.m. at the Imaginarium in the West End Washington St., Building P-149.
